The Costa Blanca or "White Coast" is the 200 km long stretch of coastline in Alicante province in southeastern Spain that stretches from Denia in the north to Pilar De Horadada in the south. It has a well-developed and diverse tourism industry and has been a popular destination for visitors from the UK and Northern Europe since the late 1950s when the first commercial airline was launched between London and Valencia.
Although not officially a specific region per se, we define the southern Costa Blanca as the area south of Alicante City and its surrounding seaside resorts down to the border with the Murcia (Costa Cálida) region at EL Mojon. The main resorts and cities on the Costa Blanca South include Torrevieja, Alicante, Santa Pola, Guardamar Del Segura, La Marina, La Zenia, Cabo Roig, Mil Palmeras, Torre De La Horadada, Playa Flamenca and Campoamor. The area also has some fantastic golf resorts including Villamartin Golf, La Finca Golf, Las Ramblas Golf, Lo Romero Golf and the stunning Las Colinas Golf Resort, which was named Spain's number one course in 2015.
The area between Dénia in the north and Alicante in the south represents the northern Costa Blanca region of Alicante province.

The area is served by two international airports. The area's main airport is in Alicante and the new Region of Murcia International Airport is just a short drive south on the Costa Cálida.
