Area info
Sucina can be described as a large village or a small town. It has a charming center complete with beautiful church square surrounded by bars and restaurants. Sucina is approximately 18 km or 15 minutes drive from The Mar Menor seaside resorts. As it is a short distance inland, it is less geared towards tourism and is ideal for those looking for a more relaxed residential environment. It is close to the new international airport and within a short drive of many of the region's fantastic golf resorts. The nearest, Hacienda Riquelme, is just 3.4 km away.
Over the past 10 years, Sucina has become a very popular choice for both regular visitors and expats permanently moving to the area from the UK and other northern European countries. It has plenty of local amenities including 2 supermarkets, restaurants, bars, banks, parks, health centre, a pharmacy, clothes shops, fresh produce, a hardware store, petrol station and a number of other services and leisure facilities. The town has about 5 or 6 very good British bars and restaurants, a British furniture store and 2 or 3 British owned property services and management companies, reflecting the number of British expats living in the town.
